Company outing to Rome

A special event for IOSS

The 20th anniversary of IOSS GmbH was an occasion for the managing directors to organise a special event for employees. In June they went for 3 days to Rome, the capital of Italy.

With wonderful sunshine, there was a lot of culture and sights to discover. The sightseeing program on the first day started with the impressive Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel. From the Gianicolo, a local mountain in Rome where the hotel was located, the panoramic view was fantastic. With typical Italian delicacies, Rome also has a lot to offer in culinary terms. At a private dinner, the hostess served Italian specialities such as bruschetta with various homemade pesto and excellent saltimbocca. The interesting and funny stories of the hostess about Rome made the evening an all-round successful.

On the second day of a guided cycle tour there was a tour through the lively streets of the old town past the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Spanish Staircase and the many other sights of the city. After a short break to rest, a walk was taken in the evening through the lively Trastevere district with its charming lanes and along the illuminated bank of the Tiber river with a culinary excursion to a small osteria.

A highlight on the third day was the visit to St Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Afterwards there was a tour through the excavation site of the ancient port city Ostia Antica, which is located about 20km southwest of Rome. At the end of the trip, there was an excursion to the beach with delicious fish and seafood for lunch and some people headed to the sea to cool down.

A great trip that will surely remain in everyone's memory for a long time to come.
